14 Reasons why you should be creating more videos

We’re here to chat with you about video! Obviously, we love video! But there are a few reasons we love it so much and why we think you should jump on this video bandwagon before it literally rolls away from you.

When “A picture is worth a thousand words,” a video must be worth a million! You can convey so much in such a short amount of time that its definitely more effective (and efficient!) to be creating video content.

We’re clearly not the only ones that think so. With social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube, heavily investing in creating video-based features, there’s no choice but to begin creating content to utilise these and get your message out there.

We’re not saying ditch everything else, but creating video content to sell and to market your brand and your business is key.

And guess what! People love watching video content, and I mean love! Wordstream claim that “One-third of online activity is spent watching video.”

Before we get into why we think video is taking over the world, it’s important to set the scene and provide context to this post.

Think about the most optimal learning process for a person that wants to become a fitter, healthier and happier individual. Ideally, they would have the support and instruction of a highly knowledgeable individual guide them through the process, step-by-step, right there with them. People learn best when they’re immersed in the subject matter. Given that you can’t be that person to everyone, we want to help you share your expertise and message with your audience in the most effective way possible and we think that video can help you achieve that.

Here are some other perks that make video the perfect format for delivering fitness, health and wellness content to your audience:

1. It’s so versatile!

You can cut, crop and edit the same piece of footage and make it look like an entirely different clip with a few clicks of the button. The beauty is, you’ve already filmed it and all it takes is a little creative flair to create what is seemingly a new video!

The ability to repackage, repurpose and republish video content is what makes it such a useful medium. You can use it in ads, create blog posts around it and create posts and stories for your social media channels to name a few.

Tweaking and tailoring content and messages to fit the channel on which you’re delivering the content takes considerably less time than creating new and fresh pieces of content every time you want to post. As you may know, content across social platforms has a very short lifespan. It’s important to refresh it regularly (at least every 2-3 days) so it maintains impact otherwise any money put behind these content pieces is essentially money down the drain.

And not to mention, once you’ve made that initial time and resource investment into creating video content, you will be able to repeatedly sell your videos on Loop App and repurpose the content to promote your products!

2. It’s one of the best ways for people to learn

If you’re sharing your fitness, health and wellness content, you’re educating your community and that means that you should be aware of different learning style. Some prefer reading, others doing, and most by watching or a combination of all three.

This study demonstrated that “Students in the e-learning environment that provided interactive video achieved significantly better learning performance and a higher level of learner satisfaction than those in other settings.

That is, when people follow along with instructional or guided videos, they learn more effectively which will improve their overall experience with your product and encourage future purchases and positive word-of-mouth.

3. Builds trust

According to The Influence of Influencers study, “Consumers now trust Influencers over Friends and Family at a rate of two to one and seven to one over celebrities for information on making a purchase.”

The medium for delivery is important, "Video content eliminates generic communication, requires less manipulation and it’s more engaging," so people inherently trust video more than other delivery methods (i.e. photos).

4. You’ve got the skills

Why not leverage your expertise and create a great product that will not only add credibility but provide your audience with an inordinate amount of value. As an influencer, you’re already creating content on the subjects you know and love. Including video will only enhance your current skill set and help you reach a wider audience.

5. Increases audience engagement

“23% stated that they view the entire video from Influencers, no matter what.” is definitely a big statistic from The Influencer of Influencers study. Not to mention “The average video post now receives twice as much engagement as all other posts” according to Facebook.

"Evidence shows that video can be twice as effective in driving sales as text-based content so strive to post this type of content regularly."

6. Grabs attention more effectively

Basic survival, your brain is hard-wired to notice movement. Moving pictures (video) grab attention more effectively. The content and the message is what helps keep the viewer’s attention.

7. Provides you with a competitive advantage

In an industry saturated with eBooks and even physical books, creating video content to deliver your fitness program, yoga flow or Pilates class is a way to differentiate yourself from your competition.

8. Boosts your brand reputation

If you’ve ever wanted to be invited as a guest speaker, be a brand ambassador or simply communicate more effectively with your audience, creating video content will help you do just that. It acts to showcase your skills and allows people to quickly assess your suitability for future projects.

9. Adds credibility, position you as an expert, authority on a topic

If your goal as an Influencer is to position yourself as an expert or authority on a topic, adding credibility to your personal brand, then video is the medium you want to be doing it with.

To become an authority on a specific topic and differentiate yourself from others in your niche, then you need to be constantly putting out content and finding ways to get that message heard. There is no easier way to do this than to share video content and allow people to see and experience your offering first-hand.

According to The Influencer of Influencers study, people “perceived video as more relevant, believable and credible than other formats.” And that’s simply referring to the medium, not the contents of the video!

Video helps people get to know you. You can easily demonstrate results, share your authenticity and build trust. In doing that, you build a

long-standing relationship with your community, leading to higher retention of your followers.

In today's commercial battlefield, brand trust and authority is everything. In fact, studies suggest that 63% of customers would only buy from an authentic brand. That’s a difficult statistic to ignore.

10. Video content is fun!

Creating videos is fun! You can experiment with the medium and find what works best for you.

It’s also fun for your viewers. Think of your experience with any type of video content. Do you think you would enjoy reading a movie script over watching the movie on screen? I would hazard a guess and say no. The same goes for relaying any type of message, the all-sensory medium that is video is simply more engaging and allows followers to get immersed in the experience.

11. Make video part of your strategy

The truth is, you’re most likely doing everything you need to do to create a video except setting up the camera.

Think of video as part of your strategy. Maybe you want to create a video course to complement your eBook offering. Maybe you want to target a specific niche with a specific video program to build credibility? Maybe you have a Personal Training business and want to attract new clients.

Incorporate video into your strategy to help build your personal brand and demonstrate the results earned through your program’s effectiveness.

12. Earn more with video

"If you want to make money it would be smarter to develop video courses because you can never price an ebook much higher than $47," Carter says. "Many video courses, however, go for $197 to $1,997."

Think beyond the simple time for money exchange. These opportunities may not grant you enough money to retire on, but a consistent source of income (cash-flow) is important to any business or individual whether that’s a few hundred or a few thousand dollars per month that you didn’t have to worry about finding.

This income that can be reinvested in your business or saved to buy that piece of equipment, car or house (I’m not here to judge, #youdoyou). Whatever you want! But wouldn’t it be nice to wake up one morning and find that a bit of extra cash was deposited in your bank account while you were sleeping? I think so!

13. You can keep selling the same video!

There are only so many hours in a day. If you’re working in the industry as a Personal Trainer or an Instructor, you’re likely partaking in the time-for-money transaction. That means you get paid based on the time you spend with a client.

If you’re using that model alone, your earning potential is already capped. There are only 24 hours in every day, that means you can only charge out 24 hours per day, no matter what rate you want to charge on an hourly basis, there’s a ceiling and you can’t move beyond that.

You need to find a way to have other income coming in that doesn’t require you to spend all your time making it happen. This is where you diversify your income.

You want to be able to leverage your time through accomplishing many things at once – whilst doing one thing at a time.

14. Removing barriers to purchasing other higher priced, long time commitment products

Don’t be afraid to give too much away. Often, fitness, health and wellness influencers worry that they’re giving away too much of their knowledge by offering video content.

They’re concerned that people won’t buy their eBook, attend their studio or purchase their Online Coaching package but this is counterintuitive. People follow, interact and purchase products and services from the influencers they know, like and trust. This is only achieved by sharing their content and positioning themselves as the authority as a means of getting to know them. This little taste of what you’re offering removes any hesitations that the consumer may have had about purchasing your products in the first place and provides them with a better experience overall.

When you have an amazing camera in the form of your phone with you at all times, there’s really no reason not to be setting it up in front of your yoga mat and creating valuable content for your community.
